Academic Plan of Study
Introduction: International Commerce and Policy in GMU immerse students in the link of business, economics, international relation, and public policy. We can develop the skills and expertise in global finance, investment trade, and development to excel and lead in public and private sectors, multinational organizations, NGO’s, nonprofits, and consulting firms. It requires its students to take some SPGIA Common Core courses, some Required ICP Required Core courses, these courses are relevant to global economy, and public policy. What is more, it also involves some electives courses which will help graduate students to solve real data problems in their field when. Finally, students who are already pursuing the Master of Arts in ICP can receive an SPGIA certificate in addition to their master’s degree by completing an additional 6 credit hours.
Smart goals:
- I hope I can pass my major course (ITRN 504, Microeconomics and Trade Policy) and get GPA 4.0 at the end of this semester. In order to achieve my goal, I intend to seriously complete assignment, to comply with classroom discipline, and listen earnestly at class. To I will try to arrange my spare time properly and go to library reading major related books as much as possible.
- In order to consolidate my knowledge that related to my major, I decide to review the professional knowledge that I learned at undergraduate while learning new expertise. I will read at least one chapter of textbook each week. At the end of this semester, I hope I can review “Microeconomics” written by Paul Krugman.
- As an international student, I will improve my English especially English speaking skills by participate in English corner every week. I intend to watch some English drama and movies about speaking skills to learn some authentic English expressions. At the end of the semester, I hope I can communicate with other people in English fluently.
